There was a small classroom with a teacher supplied by the government school system. The room was poorly laid out with very limited resources. We have made an agreement with the Hospital for structural work to be completed internally and once completed, Paradise Children’s Foundation took on the non structural redesign.
The Paradise Children’s Foundation (PCF) in partnership with the Public Hospital’s Authority, the Princess Margaret
Hospital Pediatric Department and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation blessed and opened its newly renovated
classroom on Monday, July 1! AWESOME!

During our first Princess Margaret Hospital Fun Day event in January 2018, we meet a 12 year old girl, Mikela Gibson. Mikela was due to have her leg amputated the following day. She had been diagonized with cancer in her knee and her family could not afford to have a prosthetic commissioned and no local funding or support exists. Paradise Children’s Foundation sent her to Miami (twice) for casting and a leg fitting while a Miami based OrthoPro covered the extensive rehab services. Flights, accommodation and food including the prosthetic leg, total cost $15,000.
Mikela, can now live a full life. She is working hard at school and is determined to become a medical doctor.
See the prosthetic leg Mikea has here.

The monthly Princess Margaret Hospital Fun Day iniative which consists of a group of volunteers and monthly special guests visiting the Children’s Ward (two guests per month); balloon art, face painting, magic show, mascots and local writers. We give away plush toys, complete crafts (donated by Bookworld) and leave a “take home craft” with the children to be completed after our visit. We play board games, complete colouring in images and read with the children. Starbucks provides food and helpers for the events.
Give a smile this month.
